Kat Edmonds Staff Profile

Kat has worked in schools for over 25 years, working in mainstream and SEMH special schools.  Whilst working as a teacher Kat has held roles of responsibility such as SENCO, Head of Literacy, Head of Humanities and Assistant Head of Year.  Throughout her career Kat has held secondment positions within Cheshire East LA working as an Inclusion Facilitator and advisory teacher for the Cheshire East Autism Team.

Kat joined Woodlands Outreach in 2014 and was made Head of Outreach in 2019.  She has worked with Manchester Met University to deliver the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination to SENCOs and aspiring SENCO in Shropshire.  Kat is also a SEN Expert for Independent Review Panels following permanent exclusions in school.  Kat has continued her professional development completing postgraduate courses at Chester University in Dyslexia Research and Practice.  Kat is an Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association membership and holds a current Assessment Practising Certificate.

Outside of education Kat is a working mother with two boys which keeps her pretty busy.  She has recently started playing football and plays for a local ladies’ football team.
