Welcome to Woodlands Wem. We are a Shropshire Local Authority special school catering for pupils in Key Stage 3 and 4 who have social. Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). We cater for up to 56 pupils from year 7 to Year 11, organised in teaching groups of 8. Each group is usually taught by one teacher and one Special Support Assistant. The high staff to pupil ratio within classrooms is recognition that pupils coming to Woodlands School have a range of learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties which require a significantly higher level of support.
Welcome to Woodlands Outreach. We are team of experienced and highly qualified specialist advisory teachers providing advice and support to schools, children and young people and families across Shropshire and neighbouring counties.
Welcome to Woodlands Oswestry. We provide education for pupils with challenging behaviour in a small setting with high ratios of staff. The curriculum covers all subjects which would be found in a mainstream setting delivered in a nurturing environment allowing all pupils to fully engage in the education process and therefore reach their personal potential.
Welcome to Woodlands Bishop’s Castle. We provide a nurturing environment for children in Key Stage 2 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Bishop’s Castle offers all that a larger setting is able to provide with the additional advantage of small groups and high staff ratios. We support the pupils with learning experiences they will enjoy and activities that are tailored to the needs of the individual.
