Students follow a varied curriculum, utilising the department's resources, allowing them to experience various techniques, materials and processes. Students are given, and respond to, design briefs covering a variety of themes and produce high quality outcomes in a mixture of materials.
Lower School and Middle School
Pupils work through a variety of projects closely linked to our whole school themes, developing a range of practical and communication skills. Several design and make activities are used to build the skills of the students.
Upper School pupils’ study AQA GCSE Art and Design: Art, Design and Craft
Controlled Assessment builds on work done in middle school. Students are expected to work independently on projects, utilising the properties of appropriate materials and the department's equipment and facilities. They produce a portfolio of creative work and a variety of final outcomes.
