Ofsted

Please see below for our latest Ofsted Reports and Information

I am really pleased to be able to share the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection with you.

Firstly, I want to say thank you. The support, trust and honesty that you show us every day plays a huge part in what we achieve together for our young people. Woodlands is at its best when school and homework together, and this report recognises much of what makes our school so special.

The report describes Woodlands as "a place where pupils are understood as individuals and supported to re-engage with education." For a school that works with young people who have often experienced significant challenges in their educational journeys, this recognition means a great deal to us. Inspectors saw what we see every day: strong relationships, a culture of care, and learners who feel safe, supported and understood.

The inspection highlighted many of the strengths we are most proud of, including our commitment to safeguarding, personalised support, personal development, wellbeing and preparation for adulthood. Inspectors recognised the positive progress our learners make from often challenging starting points, the opportunities they have to develop their interests and talents, and the success many achieve in moving on to further education, training and employment.

Perhaps most importantly, the report acknowledges that success at Woodlands is measured in many different ways. Alongside qualifications, inspectors recognised the importance of improved attendance, growing confidence, better emotional wellbeing, stronger relationships and renewed aspirations for the future. These milestones can be life-changing for the young people we serve.

The report also identifies areas where we can continue to improve. We welcome this feedback and will continue building on the strong foundations already in place to ensure the very best outcomes for our learners.

I would like to thank every member of staff, our governors and colleagues across The Marches Academy Trust for their dedication and commitment. Most importantly, I would like to thank our learners. They were open, honest and incredibly impressive throughout the inspection, and I could not be prouder of them.

We are incredibly proud of this report because it reflects who we are: a school that believes in young people, sees their potential and supports them to achieve things they may never have thought possible.

Finally, thank you to all of you. We know that many families have been on a challenging journey before arriving at Woodlands. Thank you for your confidence in us and for working alongside us to help your children succeed. I look forward to continuing that journey together.
