Woodlands School - Where learning is hands-on, delicious and full of discovery
Our classrooms were filled with mouthwatering aromas this week as learners rolled up their sleeves and became pizza chefs for the day!
As part of food technology and life skills, learners had the exciting opportunity to create their own pizzas from scratch, kneading dough, preparing fresh toppings, and discovering the joy of cooking together. The session offered a perfect blend of practical learning, creativity, and teamwork.
Throughout the activity, learners were able to:
-
Measure, mix, and knead their own pizza dough
-
Explore different toppings and make healthy choices
-
Develop independence and confidence in the kitchen
-
Work collaboratively while having plenty of fun
-
See (and taste!) the results of their hard work
The highlight of the day was, of course, enjoying their delicious creations, proudly made and personalised by each learner. Activities like this not only teach important cooking skills but also encourage problem-solving, following instructions, and celebrating achievements.
We are incredibly proud of all our young chefs. Their enthusiasm, focus, and creativity made the activity a great success… and the pizzas were absolutely fantastic!
